The Big Red Barn is a beautiful historic wedding venue in Lacombe, Alberta. Initially built in 1903 at the Lacombe Research Station, the barn was used to house horses before it was scheduled to be destroyed in 1995. However, it was purchased and moved onto the owner's personal property before being renamed The Big Red Barn. By 1997, the barn had been wholly restored and was ready to host wedding celebrations. The Big Red Barn has been hosting weddings, private parties, and corporate events ever since.

The Big Red Barn features multiple indoor and outdoor ceremony locations, allowing you to celebrate in rustic elegance, complete with acres of beautifully landscaped private grounds and gardens, a pond and dock, fire pits, and even a bridal suite.

Weekend rentals are available for $7500, allowing you to rent it from Friday to Sunday.

Whether you envision an intimate gathering or a larger celebration, our ceremony spaces offer a naturally stunning backdrop for your “I do.” Surrounded by mature trees, open fields, and the timeless charm of the barn, each location provides a peaceful, private atmosphere for your guests to enjoy. With multiple outdoor options to choose from, you can select the spot that best reflects your style—rustic, elegant, or somewhere in between.

Celebrate your special day in rustic elegance with our charming barn rental, offering both indoor and multiple outdoor ceremony options to suit your vision. Capture timeless memories in our beautifully landscaped gardens, perfect for wedding photos. Enjoy the convenience of a private bridal parlour, indoor bathroom facilities, and two built-in bar locations to keep the celebration flowing.

We provide seating for up to 240 guests, with 30 round tables (60" diameter), 15 rectangular tables (32” x 96”), and 8 stunning oak wine barrels for decor or cocktail setups. Cozy up around the outdoor fire pit with provided wood, and take advantage of ample on-site guest parking.

Camping:

For those looking to stay overnight, we offer campsites for up to 30 large RVs (additional charge, no services—generators welcome). Our venue blends comfort, charm, and flexibility to create an unforgettable wedding experience.

Camping is available onsite for $30 per night, per unit (tent, trailer, or RV). All camping takes place in a shared group area, so we kindly ask guests to park and set up close together to ensure there is ample space for everyone.

Arrival & Set up

Guests may arrive anytime after 10:00 a.m. on the Friday of the wedding weekend.
Quiet hours are 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
We ask all campers to pack in/pack out and treat the property with care and respect.

How Payment Works

We offer two convenient payment options:

1. Add Camping to Your Wedding Invoice

If you already know how many guests will be camping, we can simply add the total to your main wedding invoice. You are welcome to collect payment from your guests in whatever way works best for you.
